Do you work alone, or do you have a team?
I have been lucky to have developed a large network of web professionals that I can call upon to help me when a project gets too big for one person. While many of my projects are individual efforts, I've also done many where I was part of a much larger team.
How much do you charge for a website?
This is a difficult question to answer without getting all your project details first. I charge $100 an hour, or I can work on a fixed-rate project. It is vital that all the requirements are set out in the beginning of the project so that I can develop a proper estimate.
Do you require a contract?
Yes. Before starting any work, we would have to execute a web design/development contract. This is to protect both of us, and also set some initial guidelines and expectations.
Do you do any offshore outsourcing?
No, and I don't really think I ever will. I believe that off-shoring work devalues the talent that we have here in the United States, and degrades our profession as a whole. Please pay your designers/developers a fair wage for their expertise.
